Monster chopper
The Space Review: Monster chopper: "But back in 1965 the company made a proposal so bold that it bordered on insane: a giant helicopter with a rotor diameter bigger than the length of a football field, capable not merely of transporting a Saturn 5 first stage, but of actually catching it in midair as it fell on a parachute."

Classic Airplanes
Classic Airplanes: "KOIKE Shigeo is the premier aviation illustrator. His works, the products of many years of labor, are presented every year as box art and calendar illustrations and draw the admiration of a large number of aircraft fans. They depict in a realistic style a fascinating world featuring expanses of transparent space and flying airplanes enveloped in light."

Canadair CL-84 "Dynavert" helicopter - development history, photos, technical data: "In retrospect, the Canadair CL-84 V/STOL program might have been the first Tilt-Wing concept vehicle to demonstrate considerable success with the technique and generate interest worldwide. The program also generated a great interest from the Canadian military, where the model was given the CX-84 designation."

Canada’s Arctic Sky Spies: The Director’s Cut
Canada’s Arctic Sky Spies: The Director’s Cut: "The reality is that the Arctic was a Cold War battleground and Canada was deeply involved in using it as a theatre of operations. This use was embodied in the DEW Line, the Mobile Striking Force, the Canadian Rangers, the intercepts of Soviet Bear bomber flights, and signals intelligence collection. What remains as yet unexamined are the exploits of Canada’s Arctic ‘spies in the sky.’ Specifically, the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) conducted covert aerial collection programs throughout the 1950s, which were leveraged with the tripartite American, British, and Canadian (ABC) intelligence architecture to Canada’s benefit, and they contributed to the Cold War deterrence of the Soviet Union."

Goleta Air and Space Museum: Republic XF-12 Rainbow
Goleta Air and Space Museum: Republic XF-12 Rainbow: "The Republic XF-12 Rainbow was a high speed, high altitude reconnaissance airplane powered by four 3,000 horsepower R-4360 radial engines. It was able to cruise at over 450 miles per hour with a service ceiling of 45,000 feet."
The planned airliner version would have been certificated as a three engined aircraft, meaning engine failure would not have meant diverting.
Syrian Tank-Hunters in Lebanon, 1982
Syrian Tank-Hunters in Lebanon, 1982 - acig.org: "One of little-known aspects of the Lebanon War, fought between Israel, PLO, and Syria, in June 1982, was a complex anti-tank battle fought by helicopters of both sides. While at least some details about Israeli attack helicopters were published ever since, almost nothing is known about the Syrians, regardless how interesting and innovative some their tactics was."
If this subject doesn't interest you, there are lots of other very good articles about military aviation on the same site, so go there anyway.

Last Plane Without a Computer - rec.aviation.military | Google Groups
Part of a longer discussion, this message deals with artificial stabibility, in particular as used on F-4 and F-105.
The F-15 Flight Control System
The F-15 Flight Control System
Interesting article which details how complicated it is. Even though it's not really a fly-by-wire aircraft it has a lot of common with such systems.
JAS 39 Gripen in museum
Svenskt Flyghistoriskt Forum • Visa tråd - 39:an är på plats på Ängelholms Flygmuseum
Photos from when one was moved indoors at Ängelholm. This isn't the first one in a museum, the air force museum has one of the prototypes. This one is a series aircraft, but as it's been used for tests it has (or has had) test equipment built in.
